Grahamstown Science Festival (8-14 March 2016)
The SASBi Student Council hosted a stall at the Grahamstown Science Festival. The stall will focus on introducing students to Bioinformatics. To get involved please email us. We have been generously sponsored by the Bioinformatics Support Platform (BSP).
1st Student Council Symposium (20 September 2016)
The Student Council will be hosting the 1st ever Student Symposium alongside the Joint congress for the South African Society for Bioinformatics (SASBi) and the South African Genetics Society (SAGS) Congress in Durban on the 20th of September 2016. We we have 2 distinguished keynote speakers, student talks, a mini hack-a-thon, our AGM as well as a closing function and dinner. Our social and dinner is very generously sponsored by the Scientific Group. Please make a point to visit their exhibition and learn more about them during the course of the day. We were also very kindly sponsored by the ISCB Student Council. We are looking forward to welcoming you at the symposium and hope you will all have a great time.

The SASBi Student council recently put in an application to the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) through the ISCB Student Council and has officially been recognized as a Regional Student Group (RSG) of the ISCB for South Africa.
